October 19 – Flu Shot Clinic

Baylor Scott & White Clinic – Westlake (1001 Westbank Drive, Westlake Hills 78746)

8 a.m. – 6 p.m.

The CDC recommends everyone over six months of age get the seasonal influence vaccine. This is the most important step you can take in preparing for flu season and protecting you and your family. Stop by for your flu shot and a free chair massage. Light refreshments will be served.

                           

October 19 – Breast Cancer Awareness Panel Discussion

Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – Lakeway (Lower Level 1 Lobby)

6 p.m.

To help promote breast cancer awareness, we’ve brought together an expert panel, including an oncologist, radiologist, breast surgeon and a mammographer to answer all your questions about breast health. Light refreshments will be served, and guests will receive breast awareness swag and be eligible for a door prize.

 

October 26 – Skin Cancer: Warning Signs and Prevention

One in five Americans will develop skin cancer in their lifetime. Over the past three decades, more people have had skin cancer than all other cancers combined. Join Stanford and Harvard-trained Lia Gracey, MD, PhD., as she shares her knowledge about preventing skin cancer and what to watch for on your skin.

Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – Lakeway (2nd Floor Lobby)

Please join us for an informal meet and greet and tour of our beautiful Labor and Delivery facility. Guests will have the opportunity to visit with Dr. Matthew Romberg, MD, FACOG and Dr. Candace Walker, MD. Light refreshments will be served.

 

October 27 – STOP the Bleed, Save a Life Seminar

Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – Lakeway (Lower Level 1 Lobby)

11 a.m. – 1 p.m.

Find out what everyone should know to help stop bleeding after an injury. Injury results from a wide variety of causes, including accidents or intentional harm, and in a wide variety of locations, such as your home or workplace. It is important that as many people as possible survive their injuries if they sustain trauma. Led by Trauma Program Manager, Rhonda Manor Coombes, BSN, RN, this session will help you learn various ways to control bleeding, whether you only have your two hands to use or whether you have a full trauma first aid kit available to you.
